General Contractor M.A. Mortenson Co. awarded B&D Contractors, Inc. the carpentry contract for the 34-story Kilbourn Tower in downtown Milwaukee, scheduled to be completed in the Summer of 2005.
B&D is performing the installation of the doors and hardware, cabinets and millwork trim for each unit, plus the core of the building, including floor lobbies and public areas.
“This could be one of the smallest footprints in which we have ever worked,” said B&D President Brian Holmes, referring to the 120-by-90 foot plot located on the corner of Kilbourn and North Prospect Avenues, overlooking Lake Michigan. “It’s certainly a large project for such a small footprint. Nevertheless, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of another prestigious Milwaukee structure.”
B&D has also been involved with the state-of-the-art Milwaukee Art Museum and the colossal home of the Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Park.
Labeled Milwaukee’s first downtown luxury high-rise, Kilbourn Tower features 74 condominiums, starting at $730,000, that boast the finest materials and an exquisite attention to detail.
B&D began work in early November, installing cabinets on the second floor, as well as doors and base work on the first of four planned parking levels.
